Before your repair

Repair terms.

Last updated: 22 October 2026.

1. Walk-in repairs and authorisation

Electrophix is a partnership of Irfan Gora and Yakub Adam, trading as Electrophix. We currently accept walk-in customers at 8B Market Street, Heckmondwike, WF16 0JU. You must own the device or have the owner's permission to arrange its repair. Tell us about the fault, any previous repairs, liquid exposure and known damage so we can assess the work required.

We will confirm the agreed repair and price before starting. Website estimates are indicative until we have assessed the device. If further work or a higher price is needed, we will explain it and obtain your approval first.

2. Backups and device data

Back up your device before bringing it in wherever possible. Repairs, testing, software updates or existing device faults can result in data loss or a need to reset the device. Tell us before work starts if you cannot make a backup or if preserving particular data is essential.

A repair does not include a backup or data recovery service unless expressly agreed. We will obtain your permission before deliberately resetting or erasing your device. We cannot guarantee that existing data will remain accessible following a repair.

We are not responsible for data loss or damage caused solely by an existing fault or an unavoidable repair risk that we explained before you authorised the work, provided we have carried out our work with reasonable care and skill and have otherwise met our legal obligations. This does not exclude liability for loss or damage caused by our negligence or breach of contract. Not having a backup does not remove your statutory rights.

3. Device condition and repair risks

Some devices have hidden damage, corrosion or previous repairs that affect the outcome. Where we identify a material risk, including possible effects on other functions or water resistance, we will explain it before proceeding. A successful repair of one fault does not guarantee that unrelated or pre-existing faults are resolved.

We will take reasonable care of your device while it is with us. These terms do not exclude responsibility for damage we cause through a failure to take reasonable care and skill.

4. Parts and completion times

We will explain the replacement part option and any known differences in performance or device functionality before you agree to the repair.

We offer same-day screen repairs, subject to the device condition, parts availability and the completion time agreed in store. Turnaround times for other repairs depend on the work needed and will be discussed with you. If an unexpected issue affects an agreed completion time, we will contact you to explain the position and discuss your options. This does not remove your rights if we fail to meet an agreed term.

5. Charges, changes and cancellation

We do not charge for unsuccessful repairs. We accept cash and card payments. Electrophix is not VAT registered, and VAT is not added to our prices. For specially ordered parts, we take a 50% deposit towards the agreed repair cost. If we cannot complete the repair successfully, the repair deposit is refunded under our no-fix-no-fee policy. We will confirm the total payable before work starts.

If you wish to stop a repair, contact us as soon as possible. We will explain any charge for authorised work already completed or reasonable costs already incurred. We will not impose an automatic charge for the full repair or a blanket non-refundable deposit.

6. Our 90-day warranty

Electrophix offers a 90-day warranty starting on the day you collect your repaired device. It covers faults in replacement parts supplied by us and our repair workmanship. It does not cover damage to a part caused by an accident or another external cause, rather than a defect in the part or our workmanship. This exclusion does not apply to damage we cause through negligence or a failure to use reasonable care and skill. Contact us promptly if there is a problem following your repair and bring the device and proof of the repair so we can assess it.

Our warranty is additional to your statutory rights; those rights do not end simply because the 90-day warranty has expired.

7. Collection

We will tell you when your device is ready and confirm any outstanding agreed charges. Please bring your repair reference or proof of ownership when collecting it. Let us know if somebody else will collect on your behalf.

These terms do not give us an automatic right to sell or dispose of uncollected devices.

8. Problems, complaints and your rights

If you are unhappy with a repair, contact electrophix@gmail.com, call 01924 406676, or visit the shop. Please include your repair reference and a description of the problem so we can investigate and discuss a resolution.

We will carry out repairs with reasonable care and skill. Nothing in these terms restricts rights or remedies available under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or other applicable law, or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
